The latest ‘Ruins of Time’ exhibition ‘Ruins of Time / Tower’: July 2020, in St Augustine’s Tower, Hackney, London
Private View (Vernissage), open to public, Wednesday, 8th July, 6 pm – 10 pm.
‘Ruins of Time’ is an on-going project by artists from Britain and Germany, with exhibitions held over the last few years both in London and in Munich. Initiated by the London-Munich Exchange [LME], directed by Eleonora Bourmistrov and Milena Michalski, ‘Ruins of Time’ is pleased to present its new exhibition, this time in Hackney’s oldest building, St Augustine’s Tower – all that remained of St Augustine’s church built by the Knights Templars in the 13th century.
The first exhibition was at the Crypt Gallery, St. Pancras, London in November 2015; the second in Asylum Chapel, London, in March 2017: the third in the Orangerie, Englischer Garten, Munich in February – March 2018. All exhibitions were funded by City of Munich Department of Arts and Culture.
‘Ruins of Time / Tower’ is the latest in the LME series of projects exploring the passage of time and its specific expression in the architecture of a site, place or landscape.
